How to Install Grass Turf: A Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Measure and Order Sod.

Begin by measuring the area you plan to sod. Order the required amount of sod from a reputable supplier (that's us!), ensuring it's fresh and healthy.

Step 2: Prepare the Soil.

Clear the area of existing vegetation and level the soil. If necessary, till and amend the soil with topsoil or compost.

 

Step 3: Install the Sod.

Start laying the sod along a straight edge, such as a sidewalk or driveway. Stagger the seams, similar to brickwork, to create a stable, seamless appearance.

 

Step 4: Water and Roll.

Water the sod immediately after installation, and keep it consistently moist for the first few weeks. Use a sod roller to ensure good soil-to-sod contact.

Step 5: Maintenance.

Regularly water the new sod, avoid heavy foot traffic for the first few weeks, and mow the grass once it reaches the recommended height.
